One hundred years ago, John Flynn became acutely aware of the needs of a small percentage of the population living in outback Australia.

Flynn knew that isolated people needed the means to call promptly for medical assistance and stay in touch with family and friends.

The pedal H.F radio was an Australian invention to make communication easier and life in the outback safer for the small percentage of Australians who lived in remote areas.

And Flying Flynn ended up on our Australian $20 note.

One hundred years later, a growing number of Australians are feeling as isolated as Flynn’s outback Aussies.

Technology has robbed them of the means to call for medical assistance. Staying in touch with family and friends has become frustrating, confusing and in some cases impossible.

They need solutions that enable them to use technology and make their lives safer again.

As the editor of “Easy seniors phones” I am not being paid or sponsored by any company or business-owner to create this blog. I don't work for any phone company or phone distributor. I am sharing my observations and experiences as a long term volunteer who has helped others in my community find suitable phones and phone alternatives.

The intention of this site is to make it easier for ageing Australians who aren't internet savvy find phones or phone alternatives suitable for their circumstances, and also to raise awareness of the issues they face.

This site is also intended for the family, friends and carers of seniors. We hope it will help you find the best phone or phone alternative for the special elderly person in your lives.

The information on this site is collated from a range of sources including personal experiences, user reviews, manufacturers websites and distributors websites.
